Peter Mohler, PhD, is Vice President for Research at The Ohio State University and Chief Scientific Officer of The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center. He has been with The Ohio State University since 2011.

Dr. Mohler's research is focused on uncovering the mechanisms underlying abnormal heart rhythms and heart failure in children and young adults with the goal of designing new therapies for diseases at the level of the individual and the population. He has more than 240 peer-reviewed publications including manuscripts in Nature, Cell, Journal of Clinical Investigation, Circulation, Nature Medicine, PNAS and Science Signaling.

As chief scientific officer, Dr. Mohler leads all research operations across the medical center, which includes research strategy, operations, space and facilities, research finances, compliance and research initiatives. He also directs the teams that generate and disseminate best practices for interdisciplinary research and innovation across our health science enterprise. He further develops and implements new platforms for research, including basic and translational research, clinical trials and health services and population research.
